Design Concept:

This is the exclusive design for South Coast Plaza in Year of the Ox.

The ox is a trailblazer, a tenacious warrior joined by strength and beauty. Using the pate-de-verre technique, each detail in this dynamic ox sculpture was meticulously designed with an artistic eye. From its charging position represents relentlessly moving forward to its powerful hooves and stunning muscular frame, the sculpture encapsulates a spirit of triumph and hope. The proud ox stands upon a rugged terrain like a victorious hero. Under the ox is an elegant blown-glass receptacle with silver-foil highlights that shimmer like stars. The ox rises atop this constellation, like Taurus, a brave and true protector. The ox is never intimidated; it is a powerful protector. In strength and beauty, this sculpture encapsulates the essence of the ox.
